Marrero: AOL Penguins Witness Vocations in Bloom

Academy of Our Lady juniors with the aspirants at the aspirants’ medal ceremony.

By Sr. Boram Lee, FMA

(Marrero, La. – October 22) – Seven juniors from Academy of Our Lady in Marrero, La., traveled to New Jersey to participate in a Salesian Leadership Retreat, where they joined students from other Salesian schools across the country to explore faith, joy, and community.

During the trip, they attended an aspirant medal ceremony on Saturday, October 4, at Mary Help of Christians Chapel in North Haledon, N.J., where nine young women entered religious life with the Salesian Sisters (St. Joseph Province).

The experience deepened their understanding of the Salesian spirit and inspired them to bring that same sense of connection and faith back to their school community.
