THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES FOR VOCATIONS

The Joyful Mysteries

For religious and vocations to consecrated life

1. The Annunciation

“May it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38)

That consecrated men and women receive the grace to embrace obedience as their way to live according to the guidance and action of the Holy Spirit

2. The Visitation

“How does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” (Luke 1:43)

That consecrated men and women receive the grace to embrace chastity to live as instruments and witnesses to God and God’s Presence

3. The Nativity

“Mary gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7)

That consecrated men and women receive the grace to embrace poverty as an expression of trust in God

4. The Presentation

Mary and Joseph “took [Jesus] up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord” (Luke 2:22)

That consecrated men and women receive the grace to embrace prayer as both a blessing and an expression of their belonging to God

5. The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

Jesus said to his parents, “Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:29b)
