God’s Dream for All His Children

Message of the Provincial 02.01.24

Dear Members of the Salesian Family,

In the commentary for the 2024 Strenna, the Rector Major wrote, “The encounter with the Lord of Life ... is the most precious gift that we can offer young people.”

That is Don Bosco's dream—to lead young people to Jesus Christ. In fact, that is God's dream for all His children in sending us His only Son, so that all “might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

As we celebrate the feast of St. John Bosco, we pray that his dream may make us dream and live that dream of God every day.

On Friday, February 2, the feast of the Presentation, the Church celebrates World Day for Consecrated Life. The celebration is observed in parishes on Sunday, February 4. Please pray for consecrated vocations in the Church, especially consecrated Salesian vocations. Please invite young people to consider Salesian consecrated vocations to share Don Bosco's dream.
