Etobicoke: 69th Annual Columbian Squires Convention

(Etobicoke, ON – June 14) – Earlier this month, the St. Dominic Savio Squires Circle No. 5217 attended the 69th annual Columbian Squires Convention held in Waterloo, ON.

Throughout the weekend, the circle won some prestigious awards, including being elected the top Circle of the Year! Among the winners was Don Bosco Movie Night in first place for spiritual event of the year. Aiden Persaud-Watton was elected top recruiter of the year and also won squire of the year runner-up. Chief Counsellor Warren Fernandes was elected area chairman of the year runner-up, and Sam Iacobazzi was elected one of the provincial board candidates of the year.

During provincial board elections, their very own Samuel Iacobazzi was also elected as the Provincial Chief Squire of Ontario! Additionally, Calum Persaud- Watton was elected as the Deputy Chief Squire of Ontario.

The circle was thankful to St. Benedict Parish clergy, Knights of Columbus St. John Bosco Council 14327, parishioners, and everyone for all of their ongoing support in making this year so memorable! They look forward to another great year ahead. As they say in squires, Esto Dignus—Be Worthy!
