Edmonton: St. John Bosco Parish and KC Distribute Christmas Food Hampers

Christmas Food Hampers in Edmonton

By Joyce Labelle

(Edmonton, AB – December 21) – On Saturday, December 17, St. John Bosco Parish was very blessed to be able to help 70 families receive Christmas hampers. This is one of the many projects that our Knights of Columbus Council (KC) spearheads each year. The list of the families in need is given to the parish from its four neighboring schools. The KC spent two days organizing and packing these hampers. The food is purchased by the KC through their own fundraising and generous donations of food and money from our parishioners. It was a very cold, wintery day for delivery, but, with a prayer from Fr. Adaikala Raja John, SDB, and with our 35 cheer-filled volunteers, the hampers were dropped off to these grateful families. It was truly a joyful experience to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to step out in faith in following Him.
