Eastern Canada Celebrates Salesian Family Day

Eastern Canada Salesian Family Day

By Fr. Tim Zak, SDB, Provincial

(Montréal, QC – May 16) – On Saturday, May 14, members of the Salesian Family from eastern Canada (Sherbrooke, Montréal and Cornwall) gathered at the Don Bosco Youth Leadership Centre (DBYLC) in Montréal for Salesian Family Day. The main theme for reflection and sharing was the 150th anniversary of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA).

Through videos, brief presentations and interaction, the participants came to know more about Mother Mazzarello and the founding of the FMA. This was the first time since the beginning of the pandemic that the members of the eastern Canadian Salesian Family have been together in person. The day was filled with joy, hope, and gratitude for the FMA and the Salesian charism.
