East Boston: Salesian Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp

East Boston: Salesian Boys Girls Club Summer Camp

By Br. Bob Metell, SDB

(East Boston, MA – July 12) – So many fun-filled activities are happening at the Salesian Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp in beautiful East Boston. Each week, the campers have an opportunity to participate in field trips to city and state parks, museums, bowling, and a fun center. Fr. Bill Bucciferro, Fr. Ken Rodes, and I have a "Faith Fun Time" with a video and other activities and prizes.

Week two saw Independence Day combined with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the club’s new outdoor playground and basketball and soccer area. The day was completed with a BBQ catered by Carlo’s Deli.

Week three began with a rainy start. The staff came up with some last-minute rainy-day activities. The pre-teen staff did a cooking class where the campers made cheese sticks. The following days, we cooked them together. Additionally, the angels group (five-to-seven-year-olds) went on a field trip to the Center for Exploration Museum.

Stay tuned for more fun-filled updates from beautiful East Boston, MA.
