East Boston: Praying Together for Peace

Youth of the month from the Salesian Boys & Girls Club, East Boston, MA

By Br. Bob Metell, SDB

(East Boston, MA – November 16) – In times of need, Don Bosco would gather the youngsters together and encourage them to pray to Mary Help of Christians for assistance and support. Fr. Ken Rodes, in the spirit of Don Bosco, gathered a group of club members to pray for peace in general and a peaceful solution to the current war in Israel and Palestine.

The club represents the various ethnic and religious backgrounds of Boston in general and East Boston in particular. The club members’ families come from a wide range of religious backgrounds. The Salesian community, club administration, and staff respect those various backgrounds and promote and honor the various ethnic cultures. Praying for each other is an important aspect of our faith development.
