Don Bosco Feeds: Nourishing the Port Chester Community

Don Bosco Feeds

By Mr. Jerry Rodriguez, Executive Director, Don Bosco Community Center

(Port Chester, NY – July 18) – Summer is here, and as always, the Don Bosco Community Center is dedicated to serving the community year-round. This summer, we continue the tradition of celebrating the joy of sharing as we ensure that no one who visits the Center goes hungry through our Don Bosco Feeds Program, which offers five services year-round. Our soup kitchen bustles with activity and provides warm meals to all who walk through our doors. At the soup kitchen, we serve close to 1,500 meals weekly.

The food pantry and open closet are stocked and ready twice a week. They offer food and clothing to those in need. Our seniors aren’t forgotten, and the monthly grocery deliveries bring them sustenance and smiles.

Additionally, our grocery trucks roll out in partnership with Feeding Westchester to spread abundance throughout the community. Each year, we distribute close to 250,000 pounds of groceries!

Inspired by Don Bosco’s own commitment to feeding the soul and body of his children and those in need, we believe that a full belly is a key step to a full life. This initiative fosters a future where food security and community spirit go hand in hand. Together, we’re making a difference, one meal, one smile at a time.
