Chicago: Pastoral Team Receives Papal Blessings

Chicago: Papal Blessings

By Province Treasurer Fr. Richard Alejunas, SDB, Pastor, St. John Bosco-St. James Parish

(Chicago, IL – June 12) – On behalf of St. John Bosco-St. James Parish and the Salesians, all pastoral staff, and core leadership team members present at a recent luncheon were presented with papal blessings given by His Holiness, Pope Francis, in Rome last month.

The local pastor gifted the commemorative parchments in gratitude to those who have walked the journey of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s parish restructuring/evangelization program, “Renew My Church.” Additionally, this gift of the papal blessing signified the role these parish leaders played in their contributions to the growth of the Salesian missionary presence in the parish for children and young adults, as well as for Latino and Polish immigrant families, since 2019.
