Bro. Kevin White Renews Temporary Profession

Bro. Kevin Renews Vows

By Fr. Mike Mendl, SDB

(New Rochelle, NY – August 20) – In a brief ritual, Bro. Kevin White renewed his profession as a Salesian of Don Bosco during Morning Prayer on Friday, August 15. Bro. Kevin made his temporary profession for two years in the St. Joseph Chapel at the Don Bosco Retreat Center in Stony Point.

Fr. Dominic Tran received Bro. Kevin’s profession, witnessed by Frs. George Hanna and John Langan.

Fr. Dominic based his homily on the Scripture reading of Morning Prayer, Isaiah 61:10, which opens, “I rejoice heartily in the Lord.” The prophet invites us to rejoice, he stressed. We rejoice and give thanks with Mary, whose assumption is a sign of hope. We rejoice and give thanks because God has called us to be with Christ. As a Salesian Family, we rejoice and give thanks for our religious vocation and for the brothers God gives us, including those renewing their vows today: Bro. Kevin here and Bros. Pascal Mukuye and John Taylor in Marrero.
